Saturdays have been bad lately (scouts and family stuff) so I’ve tried to ditch work on Friday afternoons to make up for lost Saturday’s. Hopefully that will change soon, but with the coming daylight savings change, Friday afternoons will only get better, although sometimes my boss holds me up. You, and Shara, are always welcome to join me - consider this an open invitation. In fact my wife has told me for 30 years I shouldn’t ski alone.

I scope those lines all the time too. I don’t have a clear line of sight form my house so I carry my binoculars in my truck and whenever I run to Costco or Home Depot I spend way too much time looking at the hills (drives my wife nuts). I’d like to see your video. You may have noticed I sat there, mid-slope, for quite awhile. I was filming and was messing around with the camera. Check out my video on Facebook. I’ll send a friend request if I can find you.

Owen
OMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08161982547478758917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2392156203328098340.post-40713706708691222322013-02-28T10:03:50.264-07:002013-02-28T10:03:50.264-07:00I have a perfect view of Rectangle Peak from my fr...I have a perfect view of Rectangle Peak from my front patio. When I get home from work in the evenings I always grab the binoculars and head to the patio to check out the mountain. On Friday, same thing, I grabbed the binocs and checked out the mountain. “Son-of-a-gun,” I thought, “Owen beat me to it...AGAIN!” Perfect turns from top to bottom, I was jealous! Figuring you’d go for another run I grabbed my camera, zoomed it in as far as possible and actually caught you making turns on the lower part of the hill. I always wondered if it would be possible to film a skier from my home…turns out it is. I’ll have to get the footage to you. It’s a bit shaky but still cool.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04159850787150131642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2392156203328098340.post-71538332314050216612013-02-26T20:22:46.704-07:002013-02-26T20:22:46.704-07:00Sometimes the old stuff works, but usually not. I wore those on our winter camp (scouts) three weeks ago and I'm standing by my earlier word: those are the best ski pants I've ever owned. They breathe, they shed snow and rain like an umbrella, and at $10 (1988 price) I don't give a crap what I put them through. Gore-Tex and Schoeller doesn't come close. The downer is all the weird looks - even the scouts have a better sense for fashion.OMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08161982547478758917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2392156203328098340.post-13813495952010831352013-02-25T22:32:29.356-07:002013-02-25T22:32:29.356-07:00I've never seen you use that saw on any thing ...I've never seen you use that saw on any thing alive, or dead...

I still have my old rig - Riva bindings on Dynamic VR27's and Asolo Extreme boots. Can't say I use them much any more. Although I do remember skiing off the summit of Ben Lomand with that rig. Things have changed. The fat skis and rocker tips make zipper crust fun, not like the old days. The new equipment also makes marginal skiers like myself look almost like we know what we are doing...Brett Fullerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11840028716609536478noreply@blogger.com
